Some places I didn’t just pass through. I worked, lived and fell into the local rhythm. These are programmes I genuinely loved, run by communities pouring real heart into welcoming nomads. If any of them call to you, go, and support the people behind them.

    Colive Fukuoka

    Fukuoka, Japan30 September 2026 – 11 October 2026

Asia's largest long-stay gathering of digital nomads and international professionals, from 30 September 2026 in Fukuoka. Since June I have been coaching Japanese professionals through the Pitch Bootcamp: 100 days of practising pitches and the everyday conversations around them, so they arrive ready to network, pitch, and maybe walk away with a business deal.

If you are coming too, say hello. The point of these things is the people.

    Chiang Mai Nomad Summit

    Chiang Mai, Thailand2026Nomad Summit

Nomad Summit Chiang Mai, and my first time in Thailand. Not as a volunteer this time: I came to support the Japanese team behind Digital Nomad Nagasaki, the people I had bonded with in Nagasaki two months earlier.

    Otera Stay, Nachikatsuura

    Nachikatsuura, Japan2025Otera Stay

Working remotely from a Buddhist temple: daily temple life, quiet focus and a very different view of time. Otera Stay lets you live and work alongside a temple community in the sacred Kumano region, mornings of ritual and afternoons of deep work, with waterfalls and old pilgrim trails around you.

One of the most grounding stays of my life. Supporting these temples keeps a centuries-old tradition open to the world.

    Digital Nomad Nagasaki

    Nagasaki, Japan12 October 2025 – 14 November 2025Nagasaki Nomad

One of 23 chosen from 632 applications. Five intense weeks in southern Japan on a government-backed programme, exploring cities and rural villages and spending time with local communities. I ran leadership and personal-growth sessions for local students and business owners. An incredible opportunity that changed how I think about work, hospitality and time.

I loved every minute here. Go, and you’ll be backing a local community doing something genuinely special.

If you run one of these, or you will be at one, tell me. I would rather meet you there than here.
