Where next?Where now?Where was I?
NextNowThenColive Fukuoka
Asia's largest long-stay gathering of digital nomads and international professionals, from 30 September 2026 in Fukuoka.

Simply being myself
Not a travel blog. This is where the perspective comes from: 30+ countries, the programmes, and one question that travels with me.
Ahoj, I’m Václav, and this is the road as I see it: the daily reality of Being Václav. As a former Happiness Manager I learned that happiness isn’t only a feeling, it’s a skill you can build. Here I put what I know about leading people next to what the road keeps teaching me, in real stories and the practical things I pick up on the way.

Where did I plug in?
Some places I didn’t just pass through. I worked, lived and fell into the local rhythm. These are programmes I genuinely loved, run by communities pouring real heart into welcoming nomads. If any of them call to you, go, and support the people behind them.

Where have I been?
What are the coordinates?
Travel
Smart travel hacks and global perspectives from 30+ countries.
Travel tips that work, cultural discoveries, budget notes and stories from 30+ countries. How to travel smarter and see a place through a deeper, more attentive lens.
How to travel smarter
Budget tip: use local SIM cards and regional transport apps (Grab, Bolt, the regional train network) rather than global services. It costs a fraction of the price and you commute the way locals do.
“I do believe exploring places and different cultures opens one man’s mind to a greater thinking.”
Leadership
Actionable strategies for personal growth and thriving teams.
What a former Happiness Manager and a consultant to several IT companies has learned about leading people: practical leadership habits, a workplace culture that lasts, and ways to let people grow without burning out.
The 5-minute daily win
Trust is built in micro-moments. Replace a weekly 1-hour alignment with a daily 5-minute personal check-in. Ask just one question: ‘What was your biggest win yesterday, and how can I help you today?’
“Managers and leaders are human too.”
Stories
Candid tales of hard work, funny failures, and connecting with people.
This is the core of Being Václav: real stories, a look behind the scenes of interesting events and conferences, and the work of growing up in public. Proof that ambition and joy can share a desk, because even hard work can feel good.
Lisbon presentation adventure
Once, at a conference in Lisbon, I arrived at the venue to find my slides corrupted. I delivered a fully improvised, interactive Q&A session instead, and it received the highest feedback score of the entire event.
“Get to the flow state.”
Speaking
Master the skill of presenting with confidence and lasting impact.
Tips and mentoring on public speaking, verbal delivery and presentation skills: how to get past stage fright, structure a message, and use visual design so the idea lands with any audience.
The icebreaker pigeon keynote
To break the ice at a keynote on vulnerability, I opened without a word, mimicking a pigeon’s movements for 30 seconds. Once you have survived looking ridiculous in front of a room, stage fright has nothing left to threaten you with.

“I do what it takes to deliver a great speech, even becoming a pigeon for half an hour.”
What did it look like?
Where does this continue?
The journal is on its way. Until it lands, the road is on Instagram, and the longer pieces are on the other site.
